Visitors
Moorhouse is open to visitors at any
time, however we would request visitor's discretion during meal
times and late evenings, other than at the specific request of the
resident.
Recreation
The social life at Moorhouse includes
outings such as trips to the theatre, National Trust properties
and the seaside. There are regular visits from outside speakers
and musical groups as well as a full and varied programme of social
activities including crafts, music evenings, exercise classes and
croquet on the lawn.
Library
There is a library available to all
residents which is supported by the mobile County Library to meet
individual requirements. In addition talking books and cassettes
are available when required.
Loop System for the Hard of
Hearing
The Sitting Room and Dining Room are
fitted with a loop system for the hard of hearing. This facility
is also available in residents private rooms if required.
Telephone
Each room is fitted with a direct dial
telephone with outgoing calls logged and charged to the end of month
account.
Chaplains
Communion services are held by the
local Vicar fortnightly and by the Roman Catholic Priest weekly;
transport is provided to their churches and to the United Reform
Church, as required. Visits from residents own ministers are welcome
at all times.
Smoking
In accordance with current recommendations
we operate a No Smoking Policy.
